This is a sponsored post for Nutella
After a summer of lazy mornings, we are back to school with a bump. It is time to get organised so that breakfast time is hassle free. Getting three children up and ready for school as well as getting myself ready for work can be hectic at times. I have lost count of the number of times that I have asked middle man if he is ready to go, only to find him watching TV in his pants and a sock. I have decided that this year needs to be different and a more organised approach to our mornings is required. So here are my top tips that I hope will make our breakfast time hassle free.
1. Sort out uniform the night before.
Considering the washing machine seems to be constantly running, it never ceases to amaze me when the boys tell me at 7.30am that they don’t have the correct uniform. This year, they will be getting everything out the night before so if they need anything I can put a wash on before bed.
2. Use a family planner.
With 5 people in different places with various different clubs to go to, a family planner is the way to go. I am hoping that this will help me remember the numerous school slips that need returning as well as who has what club each evening.
3. No TV until you are ready to go.
TV is such a distraction. Everyone needs to be ready before it can go on.
4. Plan for some easy and balanced breakfasts.
Regular readers will know that I meal plan for evening meals, but it is also good to think about breakfasts too. Overnight Oats are a great idea to prepare the night before.
Nutella on toast is a favourite in our house too. A 15g portion (one heaped teaspoon) is 80 calories. Nutella is a delicious way to spread a little happiness at breakfast.
5. Know where shoes and coats are.
Get the children into the habit of leaving their coats and shoes by the door when they come home from school so that they are ready to go in the morning. No more looking under the sofa for a stray shoe in the mornings!
What are your top tips for a hassle free breakfast time?
I love a spoonful of Nutella on my porridge xx
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I haven't though about putting it on porridge! That would be lovely in the winter.
DeleteAbsolutely love Nutella! On toast, in croissants, in a crepe with banana! So versatile! x
ReplyDeleteOoo yes - crepe and banana is fantastic with Nutella x
DeleteYum - we love Nutella! I completely agree with your point about the TV. Mine don’t get to watch it till they’re ready in their shoes and coats!
ReplyDeletelol - yes that is what I need mine to do. Otherwise they lose things like socks!
DeleteWe love Nutella here too - my boys are actually pretty good in the mornings, they know they're not allowed to play until they're dressed and ready to go, so if they mess about there's no time to play!
ReplyDeleteIt is all about getting them into a routine isn't it? x
DeleteMy boys LOVE Nutella. They have it as a treat occasionally and think it's the BEST MORNING EVER when I let them have Nutella on toast!
ReplyDeleteAs for the tips to make breakfast hassle free I like having overnight oats - they're great to prepare beforehand and just grab from the fridge when ready. :)
I have to say I was shocked at how far a teaspoon went too - I thought you would need much more.
ReplyDeleteOvernight oats are fab aren't they?
