Actimel Smoothies

Actimel Smoothies

As after school activities go, smoothie making has been a BIG hit with my boys. They get to make a smoothie and then they get to drink it! Actimel  family wellbeing sent us a smoothie maker, some fruit and a pack of the new mango and passion fruit Actimel so that we could try out some smoothies. To be honest the Actimel drinks taste really nice as they are, but if you like smoothie making, they are just the right size to put in with some chopped fruit to make a delicious smoothie.

We are a bit of a competitive household so I thought I would hold a little competition to decide which smoothie was best.

Middle man went first using one pot of mango and passion fruit Actimel, a banana, a handful of grapes and a couple of strawberries. It was nice but the main taste was banana. Middle man liked it and I gave it a 3/5.

Big man was very excited about chopping the fruit very small. He chose to make one using mango, strawberries, half an apple and a passion fruit.

I preferred it to middle man's and gave it a 4/5. After all that hard work chopping they got to sit down and enjoy their drinks whilst I worked on my winning smoothie.

I decided to use 1 pot of Actimel, some frozen raspberries, a few chunks of mango, a passion fruit and a couple of strawberries. Yep mine was very good. I gave it 41/2 out of 5.

Daddy came home and the kids were very excited to tell him about their smoothie making. He was very excited about having a go himself. He basically used our leftovers. Some frozen raspberries, mango, strawberries and grapes. Nooooooooo - his was the best by far! 5/5

The great thing about smoothies is they generally taste pretty good no matter what fruit you use. It is also a great way of getting fruit into little ones. The boys loved it and I have since bought more Actimel of varying flavours so we can make some more. If you fancy trying some Actimel recipes click here - I had never thought of using it as an ingredient before, but think I may have to try a few of these.

Actimel and fruit

We were given the Actimel, smoothie maker and some fruit so that we could write this post, but the opinions contained here are my own.

  3. If you want to mix your juice correctly then, you need to ensure the uses of good quality smoothie maker. I think a smoothie maker can create a balanced mix of vital nutrients and vitamins in a glass in the form of a refreshing drink.

  4. The blender I use is a Oster 18-Speed with a very powerful ice crushing mode. The Vitamix is considered to be the best blender on the market, and could be a worthy investment if you plan on making smoothies often.
