I have always encouraged the boys to love books. When they were weeks old they had soft books to feel, then board books, buggy books, books for the bath. I love that big man is now starting to read by himself. I love that each night, the boys chose a story book to read. In the case of middle man - it is 2 or 3! In my teaching days, it upset me that there were children reaching secondary school barely able to read and write. I love the fact that Daddy does story time when he is home. As I have boys, I have read that it is important that they have a male role model who enjoys reading.
Anyway, as I am feeling in a book loving mood today, I thought that I would offer my readers a chance to win a copy of The Smartest Giant in Town book and activity book. Written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Alex Scheffler, you know that you are going to get a lovely rhyming story with great illustrations. It tells the tale of a scruffy giant who gets some smart new clothes. However, on the way home he meets a lot of animals in need of his help and his new clothes!
