A Spooky Halloween With SPAM®

As soon as the boys go back to school, they start getting excited about Halloween. I appreciate that not everyone is a lover of Halloween, but we see it as a chance to have a little party and play some games. Whilst my boys would quite happily stuff their faces with Halloween cake pops and sweets, I would rather they had some savoury treats too. These SPAM® Spooks are perfect for a Halloween party.

To make 8 SPAM® Spooks you will need:

400g SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham. (lie the SPAM® on it's wide side and cut 8-10 slices.)
2 cloves of minced garlic
16 slices of medium cut white bread
2 large eggs

Using Halloween cookie cutters or a cardboard template, cut out the ghosts, skulls and coffins on the bread and SPAM.

Sandwich the SPAM spooks inbetween 2 pieces of bread and press well together.

Pour the oil and minced garlic into a large frying pan (approx.2-3cm deep) and heat to a high temperature.

Dip each SPAM® Spook into the beaten egg and then place in the frying pan.

Fry for around 1 minute until golden brown. Then turn the Spook over and repeat.
