Chemist Direct Review

chemist Direct review

I have read some differing opinions on blogs about the online company Chemist Direct. So when they asked if I would be interested in £50 credit for their site I thought it was the perfect chance for me to see for myself if they were worth purchasing from.

As we are off on our holidays in a few weeks time I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get some summer essentials. I have heard good things about the P20 range so thought I would give this a try. I also got some travel sized products so that my suitcase isn't weighted down and some razor blades for my husband - who says I don't know how to spoil him!

The site was easy to use with drop down menus. The prices? Well to be brutally honest they were disappointing. I would usually buy toiletries along with my food shop at Tesco.  Having had a quick look at Tesco online groceries, most of the products could be purchased from there, and were often cheaper. Whilst the sun creams had a better individual price on Chemist Direct, the offers on Tesco would have bought them down to a lower cost. I did like that I could buy travel sized products from Chemist Direct, which would not have been available using my normal shop.

So in short, the ordering process with Chemist Direct was simple. There is free delivery for orders over £40. All the products I ordered were in stock and delivery was by courier in a couple of days. The only downside is that I didn't feel that the prices for the items I ordered was particularly competitive and this would stop me from ordering in the future. It may well be that they have some good deals on certain items and worth a look if you are planning a big toiletry shop.

Agree a good idea, but too pricey

Would be good to stock up on all the bathroom cabinet products

very useful - have used them before, and the range is excellent for a big toiletry shop (my mother in law is very pleased at the 'old lady range'!

I'm like you I get things like this in the supermarket, not sure I would ever need enough to spend £40 to get the free delivery - unless there were some very good offers on that I could stock up on stuff!

A very comprehensive review,I too shop at Tesco and I can't see that I would be ordering from Chemist Direct x

I was marking the prices off against my receipt! The P20 was considerably cheaper, but it's more greasy than I was expecting so don't think I would buy it again.

I think if you know what you want and know your prices it may work well.

Just had an e mail to say they have a summer sale on - so there may well be better offers now!

They sound good. I wonder how well they can compete with companies like Superdrug who can offer free delivery on all orders though. I'll definitely take a look though.

Thank for sharing the chemist online shop, nice to know you can get a nice selection of travel products, that you wouldn't normally get on another website.

Great site .. but for a money saving mum the prices weren't up to scratch

Heard of them but don't think the prices are that cheap especially when you factor delivery costs.

I think I'd carry on buying my toiletries with my weekly shop, only ever need one or two things at a time

great review, but I'll stick to Supredrug, you only need to order £10 to get free delivery there and they have good offers on all the time

I've had a look at their site, and I wasn't too impressed with their pricing, I can normally get the things I use cheaper.
